Starting Sunday, 2 February – “Freedom for the Prisoners” is a teaching series exploring Jesus’ mission as proclaimed in Luke 4:18-19: “The Spirit of the Lord is on me… to proclaim freedom for the prisoners.” As we journey through these passages in Luke’s Gospel, we’ll see Jesus bringing freedom in surprising and life-changing ways—liberating the oppressed, healing the sick, calling the unlikely, and challenging religious expectations. His words and actions confront the barriers that keep people from God, offering true freedom found only in Him.
Through Jesus’ ministry, we’ll witness the tension between those who embrace His freedom and those who resist it. From His rejection in His hometown to His call to fishermen, His healing of outcasts, and His challenge to religious leaders, Jesus reveals that God’s kingdom breaks into our world with grace, power, and transformation. Whether you’re exploring faith or have followed Jesus for years, this series invites you to experience the freedom He offers—freedom from sin, fear, and the burdens that hold us back.
